Safeguarding
INTRODUCTION
At CiC International we take the safeguarding of children and adults very seriously.
We believe all Christian Ministers have a duty to recognise and be well informed on issues regarding safeguarding, reporting of abuse, recognising its signs and knowing how to appropriately handle them.
CiC’s duty is to ensure that its members have undergone appropriate vetting and training for the role and position they hold both within their organisation and more widely amongst the general public.
You can read our full safeguarding policy below:
CiC MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
All CiC accredited members are required to have a minimum level of “Safeguarding knowledge for those working directly with children or adults with care and support needs” for its members, some positions have legal or employment requirements with regards to safeguarding training.
All CiC member organisations are required to have their own safeguarding policy that is suitable for meeting their aims and objectives.
Each member organisation is responsible for ensuring each accredited Minister of CiC must have a current DBS Disclosure of the appropriate Level and Workforce for the ministry they’re involved in. Evidence of this must be provided during application, and upon renewal (if not registered with the DBS Update Service).
Without the correct safeguarding training, policies or proofs requested, CiC is unable to give or renew ministerial accreditation.
For full details refer to the full Safeguarding Policy above.
RECOMMENDED TRAINING FOR CiC MEMBERS
If you are an accredited CiC member, our recommended training provider is thirtyone:eight.
You will need to create your own account with thirtyone:eight. This is free of charge.
The recommended training can then be completed online and costs approximately £60.
Members should take the ‘Safeguarding Adults at Risk of Harm’ course, and the ‘Safeguarding Children & Young People’ course, if appropriate. Equivalent courses which cover the same content can also undertaken.
